How to get a card and who can get one?

Who can apply for a card?

Any UK resident over 10 years old can apply for a card. Parental consent is required for those under 14.

Do I need a bank account to get a card?

No, you do not need to have or open a bank account to get a card.

Do I need a good credit record to get a card?

No, there is no credit check required to receive your card. The card is available to anyone, whatever their credit history.

Will I require any ID to complete my card application?

No. When you apply for your card, we will ask for your name, and full address with a valid postcode. We need this to deliver your card. However, we do reserve the right to decline your application if the details you provide do not match the details on our postal address database. We will also use external verification agencies to confirm your address as part of our commitment to fraud prevention.

Do I need to pay before I receive my card?

Yes and you can pay for your card with one of the following payment methods:

1. Text SPLASH to 60999 (Note: You can only pay once per mobile phone number).

2. With a credit or a debit card. Please note that cards must be MasterCard Secure Code or Verified by Visa registered. See the How to pay page for details..

3. With cash by buying a 360money e-voucher at any of the 15,000 PayPoint outlets across the UK. Click here to find your nearest PayPoint location.

If I want to pay for my card using an e-voucher, how do I purchase one?

You can buy an e-voucher at any PayPoint outlet which you then use online when completing your application.

1. Decide how much money you want to load onto the card plus the application fee. For example:

2. Print off this coupon (optional), visit any PayPoint outlet and purchase a 360money e-voucher for the required amount.

3. Keep the e-voucher you receive to complete your application.

4. Go to the Splash Plastic website, click Apply Now then simply enter your e-voucher number when requested on the payment page.

Note: e-voucher purchases are limited to £100.
